House Wrap

House Wrap

House Wrap – a synthetic membrane used to protect wood framed buildings from excess moisture. It is applied over the wall sheathing before the windows, doors, siding and trim is installed. House wrap is engineered to prevent water from penetrating into the substrate while still allowing water vapor to pass through. This ability to inhibit water intrusion while still allowing the wall cavity to breath prevents the build up of moisture in the wall cavity which could result in mold or decay.
