Transition Strip

Transition Strip – a generic term for a length of wood, metal, vinyl or composite material that covers the unfinished edges of adjacent flooring in a doorway or other area where two sections of flooring abut.  The purpose of  transition strips are to provide a smooth and aesthetic transition from one area of flooring to another.

Transition strips may also be referred to as a :

  • Threshold
  • Reducer
  • T strip
  • Joiner (carpet) (vinyl)
  • Edge guard
