Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL)

Laminated Veneer Lumber – abbreviated LVL, is an engineered wood product consisting of multiple thin layers of wood stacked and bonded together with a strong glue in order to form a support member.   Common uses of Lamented veneer lumber include beam, header and rim joist.  Due to a controlled manufacturing process and it’s composite nature laminated veneer lumber is stronger, straighter and more uniform than milled lumber as well as being less prone to warping, splitting, bowing or shrinking.
