Closet Flange

Closet Flange – also referred to as a toilet flange is a pipe fitting installed in bathrooms that connect to the sewer drain line and also provides a means of mounting a toilet. Closet flanges may be made from ABS, PVC or metal and consist of a hub with a flange at the top.

The closet flange is usually mounted on top of the floor with the hub extending through the floor and connecting to the drain line.  A wax ring is placed between the bottom of the toilet and the closet flange to form a seal as the toilet bolts are tightened.
