Speed Square

Speed Square – a multipurpose layout tool invented in 1925 by Albert J. Swanson having the shape of a right triangle with embossed linear measurement, angle and pitch marks.  Described by the manufacturer as a Try Square, Miter Square, Protractor, Line Scriber, & Saw Guide, this compact tool is commonly used to mark lumber for square cuts as well as laying out various rafter or stringer angles.
